Well, I ended up acquiring a 16G white iPhone 3G.
After talking to some colleagues who told me the $30 add-on data plan would work for me, I went to the AT&T store in Moreno Valley to verify and the salesgirl confirmed. So I placed an order.
But after seeing all the buzz on the Web about how AT&T backorders have an unknown ETA (anywhere from 3 days to 21 days), I ended up just checking the Apple iPhone availability web page. The page indicated that the Rancho Cucamonga (Victoria Gardens) store would have the 16G white, which is what I wanted, so I ran over to the Apple Store and snagged one.
I haven’t played around with the phone much. All I cared about was finally getting a ‘smartphone’ with web and email access, and I wanted the Apple product as opposed to some Windows Mobile crap.
I need to remember to cancel my AT&T direct fulfillment order.
My Glock 27 is still better than this iPhone, though.
