Out at the range in the New Year for a very short range session to function test my Savage 10FP which had extraction issues, again, and I ended up swapping out all the extractor and ejector parts for aftermarket replacements.
Furthermore, I spent a few minutes checking the zero of one of my carry guns, a Glock 19 Gen 3, with Federal 9mm 124gr HST. I have been carrying Hornady Critical Duty for the past few years and due to the fact Hornady Critical Duty is relatively more expensive and often out-of-stock, I wanted to switch.
I like to rotate out the actual rounds I carry at least once a year, by shooting the two magazines’ worth of ammo, and replacing with ammo fresh from the box. Federal HST is easier to come by, costs less, and is arguably just as effective as Hornady Critical Duty.
