I actually have two photos that I wanted to post that were taken the day prior at the March Field Air Museum in Riverside (California).
The photos depict the B-17 Flying Fortress (G variant), which is arguably the most iconic bomber of World War II.
This particular plane, Serial 44-6393 aka Starduster, was used as the primary command transport for General Ira Eaker during WWII. There are currently forty-seven documented surviving B-17 planes, one of which is Starduster at the March Field Air Museum in Riverside (California).
